Susan Myshka, D.C., a member of the World Chiropractic
Alliance, is running for a Congressional seat from Arkansas and has requested financial
support from her colleagues. She is the Republican candidate in the first district, and is
attempting to unseat incumbent Marion Berry.
"When you look at the 1st District, if you see what I see, you see families losing
their farms, families spending more on taxes than they do on housing, food, and clothing
combined, families and senior citizens who are being denied access to quality health care,
bureaucrats who want to herd our children into huge schools and wipe out part of the heart
of our communities, and people losing jobs while the rest of the country enjoys an
economic boom," she notes.
On the issue of health care, she states, "The best way to control costs and
improve quality is to put the consumer in greater control of their health care
choices." In addition, she supports a "targeted plan to make prescription drugs
available to those on Medicare who truly demonstrate a need."
Although Berry is considered "vulnerable" by Arkansas political analysts, he
has been able to raise considerably more money than Dr. Myshka ($129,000 to her $70,000,
as of June 2000). Thats why shes turning to her colleagues to ask for help.
Terry A. Rondberg, D.C., president of the World Chiropractic Alliance and his wife Cindy
personally donated $2,000 to Myshkas campaign. "It is important that doctors of
chiropractic be elected to Washington," he stated. "We need members of our
profession working within the government when important chiropractic-related issues
arise."
