CBS signs agreement with CNA insurance
Chiropractic Benefit Services (CBS) Malpractice company officials have
entered into a new underwriting agreement with CNA insurance organization.
CBS
sought a new underwriting partner after the A.M Best rating of its previous
underwriter, Kemper Insurance, was lowered and it dropped several lines of
insurance. CBS and Kemper agreed that policies would not be terminated while
coverage is transferred to CNA.
“Backed by CNA casualty insurance company – which has an A.M Best ‘A’ rating
-- CBS will continue to offer the best chiropractic professional liability
insurance policy to our clients. In addition, with CNA we will be able to
broaden the insurance coverage offered to include business property and
general liability protection,” said Timothy Feuling, CBS president.
According to the 2003 first quarter financial report from CNA, the company’s
Property & Casualty and Life and Group segments have steadily progressed in
profits and new business, along with improved loss ratios.
CNA
is the country’s fourth largest commercial insurance writer, the 11th
largest property and casualty company and the 51st largest life insurance
company. CNA insurance products include standard commercial lines, specialty
lines, surety, reinsurance, marine and other property and casualty coverages;
life and accident insurance; group long term care, disability and life
insurance; and pension products. CNA services include risk management,
information services, underwriting, risk control, and claims administration.
More information on CNA is available at www.cna.com.
“Everyone at CBS applauds our members for their loyalty and trust, and we
thank them for their continued support,” said Feuling.
CBS
was the first -- and remains the only -- program owned and operated by a
chiropractic family committed to lifetime, subluxation-based, family
wellness care. It was specifically formed to offer subluxation-based doctors
an alternative to medically oriented policies, while still providing the
best professional liability coverage available. Its mission is to turn the
need for insurance into a positive for the profession, by using revenues to
support programs and develop tools which further the cause of
subluxation-based chiropractic.
Guided by the vision and wisdom of B.J. Palmer, CBS works to safeguard
principled, subluxation-based chiropractic and ensure that its practitioners
remain free to provide the life-enhancing gift of subluxation correction for
all people.
As
added benefits to policy holders, CBS provides free downloadable copies of
its manual, “The CBS Malpractice Prevention Program,” and the full-length
paperback book, “Chiropractic:
Compassion and Expectation.” In addition it publishes an
electronic newsletter containing valuable information on risk management
issues. These materials and many others are available at
