Joint Legislative Day

Brings WCA, ICA, FSCO members and supporters together in a demonstration of unity and strength!

For the first time in history, three great organizations -- the World Chiropractic Alliance, International Chiropractors Association (ICA), and Federation of Straight Chiropractors and Organizations (FSCO) -- will gather together for a demonstration of chiropractic unity and influence.

If you are a member of any of these three organizations -- or a subluxation-based chiropractor who supports our shared goals -- you owe it to yourself and your profession to join us on this exciting day.

Presentations will include appearances by top policy makers as well as practical briefings on how to most effectively communicate with your Members of Congress. 

"All chiropractors who want to insure that vertebral subluxation remains the focus in chiropractic need to support the Coalition's efforts and should attend Legislative Day", said Gary Horwin, FSCO president. "This will go a long way in confirming that we represent mainstream chiropractic."

Terry A. Rondberg, D.C., president of the WCA, added: "This special day of united effort will help chiropractors set legislative policy that will guide the profession for years -- perhaps generations -- to come," said  "What we accomplish on this day will make a difference to chiropractic."

"This event is about influencing policy makers, not trying to impress each other," noted ICA Legislative Committee Chair Dr. Michael S. McLean. "Our entire emphasis is on the effective mobilization of hundreds of D.C.s, students, CAs and family members on behalf of key legislative initiatives, such as HR 3476, the new TRICARE initiative.”

Legislative Work Day 2004 will be held on Thursday, April 29th at the JW Marriot Hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue, but events will also be held in the Capitol complex itself.

Events will kick off at 8:00 when members and leaders of the three groups -- all members of the Chiropractic Coalition -- gather at the Gold Room of the Rayburn Building at the Capitol for a political rally and send off. (NOTE: since activities begin at 8 a.m., participants are encouraged to arrive at the Hotel the night before).

Throughout the day, individuals will meet during pre-arranged appointments with their legislators.  Between meetings, they'll gather at the Gold Room to hear from noted Senators, Representatives and officials from various government agencies.

NOTE: The joint legislative day is free and open to ALL doctors and friends interested in making chiropractic history. You are not required to register for the Summit to participate in the Legislative Day activities. In order to plan for the event, please contact the WCA, ICA or FSCO if you intend to participate.
